01 · Problem

Generate structured data requests for Limited Partners to send to General Partners across all stages of the LP-GP relationship.

Derived from the skill’s “Skill description” section.

02 · Who & When

Explicit triggers:

  • "LP data request", "GP reporting", "data request template"
  • "LP due diligence", "DDQ", "due diligence questionnaire"
  • "fund reporting requirements", "ILPA standards", "ILPA reporting"
  • "investor reporting", "LP questionnaire", "data room checklist"
  • "quarterly report template", "annual review checklist", "re-up evaluation data"
  • "what should I ask the GP", "what data do I need from the manager"

Implicit triggers:

  • LP evaluating a new GP relationship and needs to structure initial DD
  • LP receiving quarterly reports but unsure if they are getting adequate information
  • LP preparing for re-up decision and needs to formulate data requests
  • LP building a monitoring framework for an existing GP portfolio
  • Downstream of lp-intelligence orchestrator when Phase 2 (Data Request Formulation) is active

Do NOT activate for:

  • GP-side reporting (use quarterly-investor-update skill instead)
  • Fund formation or structuring (use fund-formation-toolkit)
  • Performance analysis on data already in hand (use gp-performance-evaluator)
  • Lease-level or property-level data requests (use property-specific skills)

Present results in this order:

  1. Request Summary -- request type, fund details, total items requested, critical item count, response deadline
  2. Data Request Table -- full itemized list organized by section with ID, description, format, benchmark, red flag trigger, priority
  3. Benchmark Specification -- authoritative sources by metric with vintage cohort and comparison methodology
  4. Red Flag Monitoring Matrix -- trigger conditions, severity, and escalation protocol for each critical item
  5. Response Tracking Template -- checklist for tracking GP response with columns: item ID, requested date, received date, status (complete/partial/declined/pending/overdue), quality assessment (adequate/insufficient/suspicious)
  6. Formatted Request Letter -- professional cover letter ready to send to GP with all sections populated
  7. ILPA Compliance Gap Analysis -- comparison of requested items against ILPA v3.0 template, noting any ILPA items not covered by GP's existing reporting

Derived from the skill’s “Output Format” section.

05 · Risks & Caveats

Stale-data note: Benchmark reporting standards reflect ILPA Reporting Template v3.0 (2024) and institutional best practices through mid-2025. Specific regulatory references (Form PF, Form ADV) reflect SEC requirements current through 2025. Market fee benchmarks for comparison purposes are based on Preqin and Cambridge Associates data through Q4 2024.
